How To Calculate AMOUNT OF Bricks, Sand and cement For Brickwork? (Calculator)

The majority of the structural structures comprise 75% of brickwork (at the very least in Parts of asia).

So it's essential to find out the brickwork calculation,

Before you begin the calculation, know about the forms of brick bonds that people covered in the last post.

In this article, we will explain,

  • Brickwork Calculation & Formulation
  • How exactly to calculate bricks per square feet
  • How exactly to calculate cement volume & Sand in brickwork

Brickwork Basics

Let’s learn the fundamentals,

  • Cement mortar ratio ought to be 1:6 for 9â€?Brickwork and 1:4 41/2â€?brickwork
  • Mortar thickness shouldn't be a lot more than 10 mm between your classes and sides of the bricks
  • Make sure you have all of the Civil tools necessary for the construction.

  • How big is the modular brick will be 190 X 90 X 90 (refer the picture)
  • Mortar Thickness will be 10mm
  • Assume required brickwork quantity will be 1 cubic metre (m3)

Any brick walls contain bricks and cement mortar.

So, to begin with, we will find the level of bricks with mortar thickness and level of bricks alone.

Level of bricks with mortar

Level of 1 brick with mortar = 200 X 100 X 100 ( 10 mm mortar thickness on all sides)

                                             = 0.2 X 0.1 X 0.1

Level of brick with mortar = 0.002 Cum (m3)

Therefore, Amount of bricks necessary for 1 cubic metre = 1/0.002 = 500 No.s

Level of bricks without mortar

Level of 1 brick without mortar = 190 X 90 X 90

                                                              = 0.19 X 0.09 X 0.09

Level of 1 brick without mortar  =  0.001539 Cum (m3)

Level of 500 bricks without mortar = 500 X 0.001539 Cum

Level of bricks without mortar for 1 cum = 0.7695 Cum  (m3)

Therefore,

Required level of cement mortar = 1 Cum Level of bricks without mortar

                                                                 = 1 â€?0.7695

Required quantity of cement mortar  = 0.2305 Cum  (m3) (Wet Problem)

Note The aforementioned volume is in a wet condition which means we are in need of 0.2305 cement mortar inside mixed problem (after adding water). And discover the dry quantity, we have to multiply 33 % as bulkage of sand.

Dry level of a mortar = 0.2305 cum X 1.33 = 0.306565 cum

We realize the mortar ratio will be 1:6 (1 component Cement & 6 Component Sand = 7 Part)

Required amount Cement amount inside brickwork = 0.306565 X 1/7 X 1440 kg

Density of cement = 1440 kg. TThe good cause to multiply this density is usually, the aforementioned multiplication shall provide us only required level of cement quantity in brickwork mainly because a cubic metre. But we are looking for cement in Kg. For that reason we have been multiplying the 1440 kg density of cement to calculate the cement volume.

Required amount Cement amount = 63 Kg = 1.26 bags (50 Kg bag)

Required quantity of Sand = 0.306565 X 6/7 = 0.26277 Cubic metre  (m3)

Thus, For 1 cum of brickwork, we are in need of

  • 500 Amounts of bricks
  • 63 kg of cement
  • 0.263 m3 of sand.
